Kate Austin
ARTS AND SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR
As the Arts and Special Projects Coordinator, Kate develops arts programming for Upper House Commons, supports arts-related scholarly research, and relishes opportunities to practice her editing skills. Kate brings a warm and calming presence to her work and is humbled to be part of an organization dedicated to intentional and thoughtful engagement at the intersection of campus and community.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Kate worked in non-profit arts administration. This experience grounds her work serving artists. A graduate of Wheaton College with a BA in Art Education, Kate started her career as an art teacher, helping kids learn to love artmaking. Leading occasional hands-on workshops with college students at the Foundation brings back the joy of the art classroom.
Kate, her husband, and three daughters enjoy getting outdoors in and around Madison with their dog, traveling, and all sorts of creative pursuits. Kate is an adult adoptee in reunion, a hobby artist, gardener, and beauty seeker.
